Ferret Out 1.0

You and your group have gathered to engage in the business of ferrets, but it appears an outsider has infiltrated your midst. A stray ferret, confused about their gang, now lurks among you! Utilize your concealed code to uncover the interloper in your meeting and expel them!

HOW TO PLAY

1. Observe the secret term displayed on the screen. All participants share the same secret term, with the exception of one player (the Weasel) who possesses a distinct word. However, no one is privy to whether they are a Ferret or the Weasel.
2. Each participant simultaneously inputs a one-word hint on their device. This can be any word except the secret term. Once all hints are submitted, the application unveils them to all players. Any word is permissible as a clue as long as it is relevant to your term. You have the discretion to determine which types of words are suitable as hints (names, slang, etc.)
3. Create a decent clue, not an exceptional one. Ideally, Ferrets should devise clues related to their word to be recognized by fellow gang members. The hint should be sufficiently nebulous to prevent the Weasel from deducing the Ferrets’ word. For instance, "Dune" may unveil "SAND." A superior hint might be "Paper."
4. Once the clues are revealed, a timer will commence and players will scrutinize the submitted hints. There is a time limit for all players to pick the player they suspect is the Weasel before it expires. Anyone suspecting themselves as the Weasel should choose their own name and then attempt to guess the Ferrets’ word.
5. Following all submissions, results are disclosed and points are allocated accordingly.

Ferrets Score:

• +1 If they accurately identify the Weasel
• +1 If ALL Ferrets correctly pinpoint the Weasel
• +1 If the Weasel fails to guess the Ferret word

Weasels Score:

• +1 If they recognize that they are the Weasel
• +1 If any Ferret fails to identify the Weasel
• +2 if they ascertain the Ferret word

The game concludes either when reaching the designated round limit (select 8/10/12 rounds) or upon achieving the set point threshold (pick 15/21 points).

Explore various gameplay modifications beyond the base game:

1. Team Weasel: Engage with two Weasels rather than one. Ferrets need only spot one of the two Weasels correctly to earn points.
2. Duel: Designed for two participants where it's plausible that neither is a Weasel.
3. Paranoia: Each round carries a chance that no player assumes the role of a Weasel.
